Interview Basics

You’ll learn how your opponent (the interviewer) trains, what they are looking for and how they will score your answers. Then, we’ll focus on how to be an active listener who can decipher the real intent of each question and how to develop impactful answers that will resonate with your interviewers.

Expand Your Aperture

With our virtual Precision Interview Coaching (PIC) and Flightdeck Leadership Exercise (FDLE) sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to sharpen your answers with a Spitfire Coach and a group of other clients working toward the same goal. In the PIC you’ll learn how to develop compelling, personal stories to answer any question. FDLEs teach you how to succeed in a situation-based interview where you’ll be “chair flying” a scenario with the interview team.

This stage of your training isn’t one and done. You’ll do lots and lots of reps to help you grow and develop the capability to compete at the highest level.

After you’ve practiced and can authentically answer any question at any time about any subject, it’s time to see if you’re ready. Next is your Pre-Mock Interview. This is you versus you. This is the moment to prove you have what it takes.

The Spitfire Elite Mock Interview Portal provides you a list of real interview questions from your target airline and records your answers. Participating in Pre-Mocks allows you to critique and modify not just your answers, but your body language and non-verbal cues.

In the final days prior to your interview, your Spitfire Coach will conduct your Mock 1v1 Capstone, a 90-minute Zoom interview that sharpens your skills and ensures you’re ready to crush any interview. You’ll also receive a digital recording of your Mock Capstone so that you can continue to prepare until the day of your interview.

Airline interview prep — your questions

How much does Spitfire Elite interview prep cost?+

The Airline Precision Interviewing Course is $849. The All In package is $1,299, and the full Spitfire Elite 360° Concierge program is $3,299. Payment plans are available on the larger packages — current pricing is always on our training store.

Is airline interview coaching actually worth it?+

Our clients have received 2,900+ conditional job offers since January 2022, most of them at United, and 60% of Spitfire clients have been hired to date. An airline interview is often a once-in-a-career opportunity; the cost of prep is small against the career it decides.

How long does the program take?+

It varies, and that is deliberate. Your coach adjusts the path to how much time you have before your interview and how much work you can put in. Pilots come to us months out and, occasionally, days out — we meet you where you are rather than forcing a fixed schedule.

I already have an interview date. Can you still help?+

Usually yes. Our Fast Pass add-on and the 360° Concierge program give you top priority across scheduling and coach access, which is how we handle short-notice interviews. Contact us with your date and we will tell you honestly what is possible.

How many mock interviews do I get?+

Programs include a one-on-one mock interview, and you can purchase additional mocks if you want more reps with a coach. You also get unlimited attendance at our PIC webinars, which is where most clients get the bulk of their practice.

Do you guarantee I will get hired?+

No, and we would be sceptical of anyone who does — the airline makes the hiring decision, not us. What we do is keep working with you. Our coaches are line check airmen, CRM facilitators and HR professionals who have coached hundreds of pilots through these interviews.

Which airlines do you prepare pilots for?+
